Small town charm
in a place where history meets mystery.

Situated on the Ohio River, Point Pleasant, West Virginia is a small town with a population of only about 5,000 people.  Visiting our town's Main Street is like stepping in a time warp to when life was much simpler.  Many of the buildings still look the same as they did in the early 1900's, and the streets are littered with mom-and-pop shops, eateries, museums, a historic (and some say haunted) hotel, a vintage movie theater that dates back to the 40's, a state park where the Battle of Point Pleasant took place, and river front amphitheater where beautiful sunsets and historic fine art murals can be seen on the mighty Ohio River.  These are just a few of the things that add to the quaint and charming character of our town.  Point Pleasant is the heartbeat of small town Americana, rich in American History with a twist of the paranormal.  Mothman sightings may be rare in our modern day, but the hospitality shown to those who visit us isn't.

historic....and haunted?

If you find yourself falling in love with our town during your visit (as most people do) and one day of visiting just isn't enough time to see the sights and experience what Pt. Pleasant has to offer, you can always book a room at the historic (and some might say haunted) Lowe Hotel.  The hotel is located directly across from the Mothman Museum and its roots date back to the turn of the century when this grand structure was built in 1901.  A visit to the historic Lowe gives a feeling of stepping back in time, yet with today's conveniences...and the occasional friendly ghost (as many have reported) might even come out to play.  Ghost sightings are not guaranteed but a cozy night's stay is.

The room keys contain a historic skeleton key and a modern day key. Watch out for the rooms on the 3rd level as many of them have been reported haunted.

World famous Mothman statue

No trip to Pt. Pleasant is complete without visiting the famous Mothman Statue that sits at the center of our Main Street, and is adjacent to the Mothman Museum.  People can be seen getting their "selfies" with Mothman all hours of the day and night and  he's been visited by people from all over the world.
