Japanese Film Crew Visits Point Pleasant

Another production crew descended on Point Pleasant on Sunday, November 12, 2006. They arrived in Point Pleasant from Los Angeles, and immediately began shooting footage to be featured in a two-hour special that will feature worldwide, known "monsters" and paranormal cases. It will be aired in Japan on December 30, 2006.

Author Jeff Wamsley was interviewed for the documentary, and he was struck by the reverence of the crew for the victims of the Silver Bridge collapse -- note the crew member kneeling to pray at the Silver Bridge Memorial.

Here are the details on the show from an e-mail sent to Jeff Wamsley by the coordinator of the shoot, Mugi Morijiri:

Jeff,

It was nice to meeting you all! and thank you for all the help you made for us. We could not make it possible without your help.... [The show will] be aired at the end of December....

The titile of the show is "Beat Takeshi's Chojogensho Special", or I translate and we could say "Beat Takashi's Paranormal Phenomenon Special."

it's on TV Asahi, one of the major TV networks in Japan, such as NBC and ABC in Japan. Let me know if you have any assistance regarding this matter.

i am in San Antonio, TX now and flying to freezing Denver, CO today.

Happy holiday!

Best,
Mugi Morijiri
